My Journey with Sake

Hello there! I’m Alex Walter, a certified Sake expert. I’ve been living and breathing Sake for the past 10 years, and I’ve had some incredible experiences along the way. But before I dive into those, let me share a bit about my background. I was born and raised in the United States, but my fascination with Japanese culture led me to relocate to Japan. This was where my love affair with Sake began.

Discovering the World of Sake

My first encounter with Sake was at a local Izakaya (Japanese pub) in Tokyo. I remember the server recommending a bottle of Junmai Daiginjo, a premium type of Sake. The taste was unlike anything I had experienced before – a perfect balance of sweet and umami with a hint of fruitiness. That moment was a turning point for me, sparking a curiosity that would eventually turn into a passion.

Deepening My Understanding

Driven by this newfound interest, I decided to delve deeper into the world of Sake. I enrolled in a Sake course and was fortunate enough to study under some of the best Sake masters in Japan. The more I learned, the more I fell in love with this exquisite beverage. From the meticulous brewing process to the intricate tasting notes, every aspect of Sake fascinated me.

Sharing My Passion

After completing my course, I was eager to share my knowledge and passion with others. I started hosting Sake tasting events, introducing people to the diverse range of flavors and styles. It was a joy to see their reactions as they discovered their own love for Sake.

My Daily Life with Sake

Sake has become an integral part of my daily life. I start my day with a cup of warm Sake, a traditional Japanese custom that I’ve come to appreciate. It’s a moment of tranquility before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. I also enjoy experimenting with Sake pairings in my meals. One of my favorite combinations is a chilled glass of Nigori Sake with a plate of fresh sashimi.

The Future of Sake

Looking ahead, I’m excited about the future of Sake. There’s a growing interest in Sake outside of Japan, and I’m thrilled to be part of this global Sake movement. I hope to continue sharing my passion and knowledge, helping more people discover the beauty of Sake.
